Studio Brief 2 - Wayfinding/Interior Design Research

Following is some interior research that I find inspiring and suitable for our concept, along with features of design that I feel we  could consider for the design of the new LAU building.

Wooden walls feel cosy + natural. Hallways are full of light, large windows at the end.

Large social table, fit for cafeteria? Plants on the walls, feel natural and fresh.

Ceiling bare and made of wood, has interesting shapes, draws the eye. Ceiling windows bring in natural light.

Large windows across the whole wall, bring in lots of light, feels fun and free. Wooden ceiling adds a pleasant design element. Furniture by windows creates a cosy place to sit/chill.

Large windows across the whole wall again bring in lots of natural light, makes the space feel bigger. Again, furniture near the windows looks very tempting to go sit/chill at.

Lecture theatre with windows, doesn't feel as claustrophobic. Tables as well as nice chairs make it more comfortable for students to take notes.

Plenty of lighting, extends the feel of natural light inwards, as well as creates interesting visuals. Balcony-like hallways feel more open and free.

Glass windows covering the whole wall make the studio space feel much larger, and the nature/natural light that come through makes it feel more refreshing.

Wooden ceilings create interesting visuals, as well as make the place feel more cosy and homey. Big windows allow lots of light in which enhances the aesthetic of the wood.
Study rooms full of light and plants, creates a cosy and inspiring atmosphere. The soft couches and large TV's would allow students to comfortable present their work, or have group study sessions/discussions.
Library has lots of lighting and lots of computers. The tables could enhance group work, and more comfortable and portable chairs make it more comfortable to work for longer periods of time. The books surrounding the computer areas make the atmosphere more inspiring and motivating to work.
Large and open rooms for studios would create a more energetic and exciting atmosphere. Posters/work on the walls would be inspiring and motivation, as well as enhance the creativity in the rooms/studios.
Posters/students work/professional work on the walls in the hallways would also bring a more creative atmosphere to the building as a whole, as well as provide research and inspiration to the students.

Wood ceilings and walls, again, feel very natural and pleasing to the idea. Bright LED lighting extends the outside in, enhancing the natural light from the windows. Lot of furniture allows for comfortable socialising.
